This year’s competition was tight. some of our favorite restaurants participated. We added blind judging to the event and we came out with some amazing results!
Lisa Larkin of Bucking Horse Pantry won the salsa competition with her 4th Generation Chili Sauce, While Carl’s Tavern brought home First in the Cornbread category. Carl’s also brought home a First Place trophy for their Tavern Green Chili, making owner Colin Kelly so pleased that he just added it to the Sunday Brunch menu. Second Place in Green Chili went to Dude & Dan’s for their Pork Green Chili with People’s Choice in Green going to newcomers MOe’s BBQ for their Smoked Green Hog.
The competition in Red Chili was even more fierce! Second Place going to Dude & Dan’s smoked Brisket Chili and First Place awarded to another new player, Storm Peak Brewery for their amazing Yukon Stout Red. Our team of judges make up of 4 chefs and 3 enthusiastic chili efficinatos Did a great job of judging, but the people spoke and Dude and Dan’s came out #1 in People’s Choice fro Red just edging out Mahogany Ridges’ Double J Buffalo Red.
A great time was had by all with The Looks Like Team Spirit Award going to Mahogany Ridge Brewery and Grill and Steamboat Meat and Seafood Company taking home Best Presentation.
