This local challenge is a Steamboat Springs tradition. Restaurants and citizens alike have been battling for the distinction of having the best chili in town for decades! Our panel of expert judges will conduct blind tastings to determine the best of each category, but the real competition is for our People’s Choice Award. Attendees can purchase a tasting kit for $10 and cast their vote for their favorite.
If tasting the best chili in town is not enough for you, dance to music by local musicians Rural Wreckage and the Steve Boynton Trio or join in our jam session. Play some yard games, enjoy an adult beverage or try your hand at roping. You can also cheer on our local boy Scout troop as they encourage their calf to poop in just the right spot at the annual Muffin Plop. All proceeds from the Plop benefit the Boy Scouts.
The price for a testing kit and the ability to vote for your favorite is $10. All proceeds from this event go to help fund our holiday programs like The Downtown Halloween Stroll, Light Up The Night, Santa’s House and the Twinkle lights on Lincoln. This is a great opportunity to eat some great chili and support some awesome local events.
