Join us at the Downtown Chili Challenge 2018 Edition Saturday September 8th at the Main Street Farmers Market. Sample chili entries in 4 categories, Red, Green, Salsa and Cornbread from Steamboat’s Favorite Restaurants and Caterers as they compete for bragging rights. Sample kits are $10 and available at the Market the day of the competition. The Chili Challenge is right next to the Farmers Market on Yampa Street.
We have been hosting the challenge for many years in Steamboat and there is always a battle for bragging rights to the People’s Choice Award, where you get to vote on the winners. Past winners include, JJ’s Chili from Mahogany Ridge Brewery and Grill, Classic Cowgirl Chili from the Routt County Cattle Women, and Smoked Green Hog Chili from Moe’s BBQ. Additionally, all of our entries are submitted to our panel of professional chefs for judging in a blind tasting.
Proceeds from the Chill Challenge go to help fund our holiday activities like The Santa House and Light Up the Night.
